Update: One cool feature I just discovered: While viewing the panoramic files, if you wish to capture a shot, just hit the PrintScreen button. Then open MS Paint (or MS Word, etc.) and click on Edit, then Paste. Then you can save the file and mail it your friends, pretending that you took the picture yourself!
Thanks to almiskeenah, I ran across this most beautiful website.
It's got panoramic views of the Kaaba, Prophet's Mosque, and other masjids from Saudi Arabia as well as Turkey.
In addition to that, there are views of historic sites such as Battle of Badr, Cave Hira, Topkapi Palace (Istanbul), and more.
My favorite is the special page dedicated to the beautiful Blue Mosque (more appropriately known as the Sultan Ahmed Jami).
Now you never need to visit Turkey, except maybe to taste that extremely delicious, mysteriously halal, fermented drink called Boza.
See how reading my blog just saved you a bunch of money?!

Salaams Brother,
Jazakallah for the link.
The site is fantastic.
It took me back to standing on the top floor of the haram looking down at the kaabah. You really get the feeling of being right there.
Subhanallah!
Wassalaam
Asalaam Alaikum Bro,
Boza contains Alcohol, even a little percentage is not percentage..
(read your own link)
Ma'Salaam
*permissable
a hadith to the nearest meaning states "that which inebriates a person which is little in quantity holds the same status if it is alot."
Is is it jaiz to have a little bit of pork or a little bit of cocaine?what if its less than a morsal or the size of a fingernail?
Another hadith in bukhari states "everything that intoxicates is khamr"(hence prohibited).
could the word "booze" have originated from this perhaps?
Another funny blog is mine :)

Salaams,
re: Anon & sidi:
*Anything* that is fermented has a little bit of alcohol in it - including orange juice.
Strangely, I never hear about Muslims giving oj up.
I believe that intention is important, and medicines or non-alcoholic drinks are not taken to get intoxicated, but for other reasons.
And, of course, Allahu alim.

Subhanallah .is it permitted for one to drink milk from a glass that has a drop of najasat in it?you should know that alcohol ie. khamr is najas.
If your saying that intention is important, then would it be permitted for one to use cocaine or heroin because his intention is to benefit from them somehow?
Brother Naeem does boza contain alcohol?
AA- Sidi and Anon,
While I appreciate your gentle reminder about the impermissibility of consuming even the slightest bit of alcohol, I think there is a bit of misunderstanding.
Firstly, my experience with Boza was during my visit to Istanbul several years ago. Our Turkish host was a dear friend and mentor who was a senior member of the MSA/local community where I went to college, so it never even occurred to me to question the content of the drink. I trust that he knew what we were drinking.
Secondly, based on this nicely written explanation, its clear (as Baraka pointed out), that the most basic of daily consumables (fruits, vegetables, juices, etc.) have alcohol by way of natural fermentation. So its not true that every drink/food that contains alcohol is haram.
The article goes on to include Boza in this category of permissible fermentation.
Finally, the fiqh issue of najas (impurity) entering into food or water is well known. Water used for purification or consumption can indeed have an insignificant amount of urine and still be considered usable. So lets not be so quick to make rash judgments on what is and what isn't impure/pure.
Hope that clears things up.
what the fellow has said about natural fermentation is a little ambiguous, perhaps some more research is needed...my question is if,hypothetically one were to drink an excessive amount of aforementioned drink would a person become intoxicated?a dichotomous question that needs a yes/no answer.
as for the fiqh issue, i believe everyone knows that.the scenario that you site is based on probability and without a doubt we are not mukallaf to find out whether there is minute amounts of najasat. This is further substantiated by the hadith in muwatta regarding Umar and Abdullah bin Amr .The example that i mentioned was definitive ie. when you know a haram ingredient is there.so you see there is a slight difference.Fal-ta-ta-amal Ya Rajul.I hope this explains things and that Allah gives us the ability to consume halal.we have become very complacent about haram these days.wallahu alam.
AA- Anon,
"if,hypothetically one were to drink an excessive amount of aforementioned drink would a person become intoxicated?"
Based on my understanding (and that of my Turkish friend), the answer is no.
"the scenario that you site is based on probability"
Not sure if I understood you here. Are you saying that if I'm 100% sure that someone urinated in a large lake, then that water is impure for my consumption?
"This is further substantiated by the hadith in muwatta regarding Umar and Abdullah bin Amr."
Which hadith is this?
A large body of water will not become najas. If the water is little it will become najas if an impurity falls. Now if boza has alcohol in it even though it may be a little how can one say its halal?Just because the amount of an impurity is miniscule doesnt mean anything when it comes to hillat and hurmat.Alcohol is haram if it is a little or if it is alot.A quick check on Sheikh Wikipedia showed that boza contains 1% alcohol. You said in response to my argument "finally, the fiqh issue....."i wrote; this is based on probability we are not obligated to find out whats in our drinking water.Meaning we shouldnt be assuming that urine or any other najasat is present in water that we use.
Umer and Abdullah bin Amr came to a large pond (howdh like hawdh kawther)Abdullah bin Amr asked "Ya Sahibal Hawdh tell us if animals come to your pond"Umer said "do not tell us"we are not required to know if the water is najas or not,we will use the water.Im paraphrasing but you can check the hadith in muwatta its in the chapter of wudu if im not mistaken.
