Read it regularly.
Read it so often that when a friend calls you up out of the blue and asks you when was the last time you read the Quran, your answer doesn't embarrass you.

An odd mix of Islam, politics, and off-the-wall news as seen by an American Muslim living in limbo.
Read it regularly.
Read it so often that when a friend calls you up out of the blue and asks you when was the last time you read the Quran, your answer doesn't embarrass you.

Yes. Yes. and Yes.
Is reading and reciting the same thing..because Im not sure how many Muslims bother to actually read the Quran...they just perfect the ability to recite it...for prayers. In which case...a Muslim that prays regularly...reads (recites) every day. Just thinking out loud.
Naeem, good advice!
Coolred38, there is HUGE blessings in both!
The Qur'an is The only friend you have in this life.
AA- Coolred38,
Good point sis! Far too often we ritualize the Quran, putting aside the crucial aspect of learning from the Divine words.
But at the same, let not the inability to understand the words dissuade one from reciting them. There is indeed spiritual benefit from reciting the words of our Creator.
Surely, there is a balance for everyone to strive for...
Adding to what BrNaeem has said,
thats what Shaikh hussain said;

For every letter you read you get 10 reward, that is just for reading it,
there are letters which we cannot understand like ALif Lam Meem that we get reward for reading; yet we cannot understand them...
get my point?
