Let me start on a narcissistic note. Empowered Muslim Youth has put up an interview with this humble blogger. If you’re a sucker for punishment, head on over there.
Does this news about American permanent bases in Iraq surprise anyone?
The good sister at What She Said posted this news item on Turkey dropping its ban on Hijab.
And finally, check out this amazing series of photos featuring a great white shark attacking a seal off the coast of South Africa.

that was a funny interview, especially the part about marriage being a life long hajj lol. its so true. Yu could be going great for a while and then you hit some bumps or even a low low.
"I sincerely believe that every Muslim ought to make a conscious decision to choose to be a Muslim."
Naeem I've never agreed with you more on anything! Nice interview. I'd usually make a joke and say how if they REALLY knew you...but instead, I will follow the advice in Al-Ghazali's "Brotherhood in Islam" and say about my brother what I know would please him to hear, and say that if they did REALLY know you, it would only increase their hero-worship of you...which is probably shirk but hey...JUUUUUUST KIDDIN! ~Sahra

@Anon, and the hope is that, like Hajj, the life-long efforts are accepted by Allah!

@Teta, cool..my most awesome mother-in-law is commenting on my blog! How many bloggers can lay claim to that?! And, did I mention how awesome she is?
To you newlyweds out there, take note on how to get some precious brownie points with the missus as well as her mum.
