Haaretz is reporting Netanyahu as stating the following:
"We are benefiting from one thing, and that is the attack on the Twin Towers and Pentagon, and the American struggle in Iraq," Ma'ariv quoted the former prime minister as saying. He reportedly added that these events "swung American public opinion in our favor."
Please tell me that nobody is actually surprised by this news?
Well, it does add a new twist to the international outcry against the Palestinians who celebrated in the streets after the 9/11 attacks. While they were foolish enough to celebrate in the aftermath of the attacks, seems like Netanyahu and Co. are celebrating years later.

Not surprised. I think it was 'Peace, Propaganda and the Promised Land' that did a bit on the Israeli PR machine and how they've managed to convince the American public that they stand united in solidarity and in their campaign against 'terror'. Just about every oppressive regime on the planet has benefited from the United States' "war on terror," because now they have an excuse to increase their efforts in the name of national security.
It's definitely an interesting documentary to check out if you haven't seen it already.
Do you think that the "war on terror" may be partly the result of America having lost its sense of purpose since the fall of the USSR?
