It's not enough that America is dumping on Pakistan as the breeding ground for Al-Qaeda supporters.
It's not enough that Afghanistan is dumping on Pakistan for allowing Taliban forces to regularly crossover their shared border.
It's not enough that India and Afghanistan are both dumping on Pakistan for having been behind the July 7 bombing of the Indian embassy in Kabul.
It's not enough that NATO is dumping on Pakistan for supporting the Taliban insurgency in Afghanistan.
Now there's talk that Pakistan has a role in the recent Muslim separatist flare-up in western China.
Well on the bright side, Musharraf's gonna get impeached and the Pakistani team's got a chance of medaling at the Olympics in field hockey.
Oh wait, they just got dumped on by UK.
Aww crap.

Pakistan ka matlab kiya?
La illaha ila Allah!
Pakistan was ideologically created to be an independent MUSLIM STATE.
The politician and the leaders betrayed that cause and worked for the personal and super-powers' benefit. They abused the name of Islam just to get popular support and misguide the masses.
Now let us face the realiy of this betrayal to Allah!
man yahr... that post was just so depressing... lol
Hahaha nice post.. well nice and depressing :\
Hey at least they didn't get a 10-0 whopping like SA.
Here are some interesting posts on Pakistan by a follower on the sufi path :
They are quite interesting to read.
I would love to know what you feel about them

OT: Did you ever read the book I had been blogging about, "The Great Arab Conquests?"
I don't think Pakistan can actually improve to any degree. EVER.
This belief is not stemming from any deep held racism. I honestly believe until Pakistan as a government AND as a society apologizes for the atrocities they committed in 1971, Allah will not forgive them. Even today the history Pakistanis learn in school is very distorted and no one takes any level of responsibility for what they did (or even acknowledge it was done).

@JD - I just recently got the book...haven't even cracked it open yet. Combination of laziness, busy, and other books on my reading list. :-(
But I'll try and put up my thoughts once I get through it, IA-
@Mezba, Interest point. I agree that its quite pathetic the level of ignorance Pakistan as a nation has towards this tragic episode in its history. But do you seriously believe this issue is the sole cause for Pakistan's woes?
I've never bought into all the drama involved in acknowledging a nation's dark past. Its the politically correct thing in America nowadays. Let's apologize to the American Indians. Then the Black-Americans for slavery. Let's not forget the Jews for our role in turning a blind eye to the Holocaust.
To what effect?
Its all about the now and present. How is the nation treating those minorities? How is the nation dealing with those it has oppressed?
I would actually argue their casual attitude towards the Bangladesh tragedy (then and now) is a reflection of a deeper sickness - lack of humanity.
It is not that I am into the politics of politicians apologizing to ethnic groups for votes. But I remember reading somewhere Allah does not forgive an oppressor unless the oppressed has forgiven him.
Since the perpetrators of the terrible atrocities in 1971 were the members of the Pakistan government it is now the government who has to apologize. They were aided and abetted by the Pakistani population, so it is they who should also acknowledge this error. Maybe then can descendants of Bangladeshi martyrs, or those still alive, can forgive them, and perhaps Pakistan can move on.
Till then, the country will just progress from one chaos to another.
