We don't even leave the house after Tarawih prayers...When we first came 4 years ago, it wasn't nearly this bad.

So I personally don't care for the late night/early morning shopping, but then again I have no say in the matter...I'm the family driver. :-)Naeem:https://www.blogger.com/profile/15397380149160556040noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8268156244556916801.post-57215645551639993972007-09-26T23:45:00.000+03:002007-09-26T23:45:00.000+03:00I just saw your blog for the first time today and ...I just saw your blog for the first time today and must say I enjoy your posts!! Ramadan is something totally different in a Muslim setting. I now know what I was always missing...

@Umm Layth - before we moved to Riyadh, we tried our best to create an environment of celebration for the kids during Ramadan/Eid. We would put up lights around the house and other little things. But honestly, nothing compares to being in a society where everything around you reflects Ramadan. We need to make notice that it is ramadan, make it more special.

While we are in America, we try our best to have our older son (our other is still a baby) take part in suhur and iftar with us, as a family. I just hope our kids are able to appreciate the beauty of this deen. May Allah love them. ameenAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8268156244556916801.post-53050192075496470832007-09-19T07:20:00.000+03:002007-09-19T07:20:00.000+03:00Assalamu alaikumGood post As an Indian muslim who ...Assalamu alaikum
Good post
As an Indian muslim who grew up and lived in a muslim neighbourhood and has now shifted to a different city for work,I miss the special arrangements and the celebatory spirit of Ramadan.
It feels so lonely during Ramadan with hardly any muslims around you.history_loverhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07378477845368044765noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8268156244556916801.post-37244273284199662032007-09-19T06:37:00.000+03:002007-09-19T06:37:00.000+03:00Sounds enticing...how do they treat short people i...Sounds enticing...how do they treat short people in Riyadh?MrEspyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02788562125193622417noreply@blogger.com
